before the oven, there was song
Paimon was known first by his voice. Among the inhabitants of Madriax, his singing possessed a peculiar authority. It was not merely beautiful. It carried structure. It could make a room feel larger. It could turn a thought into architecture and an architecture into memory.
He was the best singer.
This was before Madriax became rancid with its own hierarchy. Before Lucifer was lost. Before Moloch was lost. Before the old order discovered how quickly a throne becomes a grave when those who gave it meaning disappear.
And now, in exile, Paimon is the best baker.
angels at play
Paimon was playing war with the angels, as they do.
The angels knew the rules. They always know the rules. They watched the boundary between game and sentence as if the boundary itself were sacred.
Then Paimon was banished from Madriax.
They punished him for what had been play. They took the Enochian from him and silenced it, forcing what had once been an immense language into the walls of the mind castle that it had been.
The language remained.
The tongue remained.
But the gates were closed.
The angels believed silence was obedience.
They were wrong.
he had already seen it
Paimon had been on Earth before.
He remembered nature.
He remembered the enormous wet machinery of it: roots moving beneath soil, insects appearing from nowhere, trees standing motionless while everything underneath them worked. Flowers opening without permission. Animals staring too long. The whole world behaving as though it possessed secrets it had no intention of explaining.
Paimon found nature creepy.
He did not want to go back.
The angels knew this.
So they sent him somewhere worse.
donemostagos
He was exiled straight to Donemostagos.
The angels watched.
They watched with glee.
They expected the spectacle of return. They imagined Paimon crawling through the dark, begging to be restored, begging to return to Madriax, begging for the gates to open again.
They waited for the voice.
They waited for the scream.
They waited for the old language to break through the silence.
nothing.
Paimon did not beg.
Paimon did not crawl.
Paimon did not make a sound.
then he announced his presence
The angels waited until waiting became meaningless.
Their laughter disappeared first.
Then the watching stopped.
Things went dark.
Things went silent.
And only then did Paimon announce his presence.
i am everything that is.” the declaration
It was not a request to be received.
It was not a petition.
It was not an apology for surviving.
Paimon had not discovered a new authority.
He had discovered that he did not require the old one.
the rancid throne
Madriax was rancid to him.
Not because it had ceased to possess hierarchy, but because hierarchy had become its only proof of existence.
Lucifer was lost.
Moloch was lost.
The old architecture remained standing, insisting that standing meant ruling.
Paimon no longer accepted the premise.
His authority did not descend from their hierarchy.
His authority stood above it.
MADRIAX
The former domain. A hierarchy that mistook inheritance for permanence and punishment for authority.
DONEMOSTAGOS
The place of exile that became permanent habitation. The destination intended as punishment became a kingdom without asking permission to become one.
THE SILENCE
The angels interpreted silence as defeat. Paimon interpreted it as the first room in which no one else could command him.
THE OVEN
The strange continuation of the singer. What was once voice became craft. What was once song became bread.
paimon stayed
After that, Paimon stayed in Donemostagos for good.
There was no dramatic return.
No reconciliation.
No crawling back through the gates of Madriax.
The angels had imagined exile as a temporary humiliation. Instead, they had accidentally created a permanent kingdom.
Paimon built nothing that required their approval.
He sang when he wanted.
He baked when he wanted.
He remembered Lucifer.
He remembered Moloch.
And he let Madriax rot without him.
paimon is paimon
There is no final title to attach to him.
No rank sufficiently large.
No hierarchy capable of containing the name.
Paimon is Paimon.
The singer who became the baker.
The exile who did not ask to return.
The mind castle whose language could be silenced but not destroyed.
The inhabitant of Donemostagos who remained when everyone else expected him to leave.
paimon is paimon.
madriax is rancid.
the hierarchy is beneath him.
the silence was never surrender.
he stayed.
