FIELD NOTES

An ofuda is a paper talisman traditionally associated with Japanese shrines. It commonly bears sacred writing or seals and functions as a symbolic vessel for blessing, protection, or purification.

In Sailor Moon, Sailor Mars reimagines this tradition by throwing ofuda as spiritual tools against hostile supernatural forces. Rather than emphasizing physical strength, the visual language is one of clarity, discipline, focused intention, and ritual precision.

MARS ARCHETYPE
ELEMENT
Fire as purification rather than destruction.
MOTION
Direct lines, decisive gestures, clean trajectories.
TEMPERAMENT
Discipline, intuition, sacred responsibility.
COLOR
Deep vermilion, warm paper white, soft earth neutrals.
SYMBOL
A single paper charm becoming an extension of focused intent.
VISUAL LANGUAGE

Classic manga panels often portray the ofuda suspended for a brief instant before impact. Empty backgrounds, calm negative space, and clean brush-like motion emphasize spiritual force instead of spectacle.

"Purification is represented through stillness before motion."
