princes and princesses
I didn't have a lot of girly things back then until a family member gave me a rhinestone tiara in middle school. I wore it pretty much everyday and I got away with it because our uniforms allowed it. People would try to make fun of me telling me Happy Birthday, but I didn't care, eventually I laughed about it with them. I wasn't wearing it for any reason other than to have something to look forward to. I think looking back that's when I understood the power of fashion. It's about externalizing a strength deep inside of you, even when in your nudity you can't seem to find it.
Princesses are cool not just because of the drapery and silk. It's the pursuit of compassionate authority and grace. To be someone who always picks their head up during hard times because their crown might slip. I think it's okay that everyone has moments of weakness that leads us to look for each other for strength. Imagine everywhere you look seeing all kinds of princes and princesses. I think that's a vibrant environment to grow in.
