The Resin
A creative interpretation of what a zine from the future could be. High fidelity colors, punky collages, and fictionalized scandalous poetry about pains that'll never go out of style. The Resin is the prototype.
"The Resin" was made in a frenzied, rave influenced state. I used to hang out at a rave spot in Brooklyn where I sat on the floor and did UV paintings. I loved the contrast of the fluorescent colors in the dark. Every rave had so many different people acting out their own situations and scenarios. It was a collision of intimate reality, and disorienting visuals.
I made this zine as a concept for what a riot girl from the future would make. I really like more confessionary, unapolagetic storytelling in zines. Zines used as a safe space for women to talk about their stories. I wanted to write more from a character instead of directly from myself. I enjoy fantasy stories that feel real.
