books that have been making me feel

The Princess of 72nd Street by Elaine Krat is a fascinating novel about a young woman in New York who battles with manic episodes not against them, but for the right to live in them. I enjoy books like these. I think her psychology is very fascinating and I find it riveting how the author captures the disorganized thought patterns. This is one of those books where you have to be inquisitive about the psychology of others or like the protagonist to enjoy it. I really like her! She reminds me of the people I used to run into in New York, a city that should be renowned for insane painters instead of pizza.

I go out of my way to walk to a single metal bench under a tree to read White Stains by Aliester Crowley. Out of all of his books, this is probably my favorite. I tend to get more out of his creative writing like this and Moonchild. I find it easier to connect to works rather like these than walkthroughs of his systems of magic, and find they mirror eachother anyway. It also puts me in the mood to draw. The weather is very moody lately and it suits this book. The raindrops sparkle in Luciferian light and eclipse Satan's name. Like a little kiss from above.

How to Fuck Like A Girl is a colection of essays by Vera Blossom. Vera Blossom is a transfemme filipina american who writes scandalous confessionals. I love reading about sex! Not in a particularly perverse way, but in a sense that it is a different form of intimacy that obstructs no one's personal space. Books like this make me feel thankful that the world is diverse in race and gender. I love that we paint this vivid tapestry together on the realms of sex and death. The thought of a return to the hierarchy of race, gender, and sexuality scares me lately. Books like these embody almost an elegance in it's raunchiness. It is effortlessly provoking, and radiates warmth the way one should.
